LEVELLAND – South Plains College’s Creative Arts department will host Fest Week May 2-5 in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio. Each night of the festival will showcase different music ensembles.

The public is invited to attend, and there is no admission charge. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The shows will begin at 6 p.m. on May 2 and May 5. The shows will begin at 5 p.m. on May 3 and May 4 with the doors opening at 4:30 p.m.


Country Fest kicks off the event on May 2 (Monday). The evening will feature modern country, traditional country, swing, Texas and southern style country music. Performers will be Pickin’ on the Plains at 6 p.m.; South Plains Playboys at 6:45 p.m.; Country Jukebox at 7:30 p.m.; Red Dirt Ramblers at 8:15 p.m.; and Murky Waters at 9 p.m.


Rock Fest is set for May 3 (Tuesday), and will feature classic, metal, alternative rock as well as rock and roll. Performers will be Manhattan Project at 5 p.m.; Happy Happy Fun Time Jesus Band at 5:45 p.m.; Wu-Tate Clan at 6:30 p.m.; Wallney’s Terrific Friends at 7:15 p.m.; Blue Afternoon at 8 p.m.; The Kings & Queens of Wallney at 8:45 p.m.; and Mousse Abuse at 9:30 p.m.


Groove Fest is May 4 (Wednesday), and will feature modern and traditional jazz, R&B and blues music. The show will feature Electric Jazz at 5 p.m.; Real Book at 5:45 p.m.; Fear of God at 6:30 p.m.; Blue Plate Special at 7:15 p.m.; British Invasion at 8 p.m.; There Is No Spoon at 8:45 p.m.; and Stank Face at 9:30 p.m.


Thursday Night Showcase is May 5 (Thursday), and will feature performances by SPC’s ensembles Alterna TV at 6 p.m.; Funky See - Funky Do at 7:30 p.m.; and Thursday Night Live at 9 p.m.
